The house was used as a wine cellar until the early 19th century. It was built in the old part of the city, which could be reached by Ancient wooden cart and horses. At that time, the vineyards were only 200 meters away from the house. The town was divided depending of the local’s occupations. Fishermen were located in the area of Matejuška, by the sea, and carpenters in the central part of Varoš. Nowadays at Villa Pauletta, traces can be seen under the stone arch entrance, from a wooden cart that would go in and bring the grapes.
