Step back in time at Villa Pauletta, originally a 19th-century wine cellar located in the historic district of Varoš. In an era when vineyards were just a short walk away, horse-drawn carts passed through our stone archway to deliver the harvest. If you look beneath the arch today, you can still see the historic ‘scars’ in the stone left by those ancient wooden wheels—a tangible link to the city’s artisanal and winemaking roots
The history of Villa Pauletta.
The restoration of Villa Pauletta was a labor of love spanning six years, from 2012 to 2018. In a true testament to family tradition, the vast majority of the work was meticulously handcrafted by the owner and his father. Upon completion, the villa was named in honor of the owner's daughter, Paula. Rooted in Latin, the name Pauletta translates to 'Little Paula,' reflecting the intimacy and personal devotion woven into every stone of the home

Villa Pauletta is a project of passion. From 2012 to 2018, our family worked to restore this historic space from the ground up, starting with only four bare walls. We replaced the roof, laid new flooring, and lovingly sandblasted the original century-old stonework to reveal its natural beauty. Most of the renovation was done by hand by the owner and his father, blending traditional craftsmanship with the comforts of a five-star stay. We are proud to share this piece of our family history with you

During the restoration, we uncovered a true family treasure, a massive, 200 year old carpenter’s table inherited from the owner’s great-grandfather. Today, this historic piece serves as our dining table an inseparable part of both the villa’s aesthetic and our family’s story.
Every detail within the house has been meticulously planned. The signature gray-blue hue of the shutters and ceiling beams was inspired by long, thoughtful walks through the ancient streets of Veli Varoš. Even the furniture tells a story; an antique chair tucked beneath the stairs stands as a tribute to the home’s previous owner, while a 1926 vintage typewriter invites guests to leave their own mark on the villa’s history by typing out their reviews
